Andrea Cerioli victim of bodyshaming: “Male phenomenon too”

Not only women victims of body-shaming but also men, as witnessed by Andrea Cerioli who perhaps was the first to talk about the phenomenon also in Italy. The former competitor of Men and Women, of Big Brother and finally of the Island of the Famous, declared that he was a victim of this phenomenon a few months ago and that he suffered a lot.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Andrea Cerioli therefore explained that he does not tolerate body-shaming against him. On the contrary, the young man is now ready to denounce the phenomenon on behalf of all men. In particular, Cerioli was the victim of body-shaming on his social profiles after participating in the Isola dei Famosi. The former castaway in Honduras has lost more than 22 kilos. Inevitably, Andrea Cerioli has also lost a lot of muscle mass and now on social media under his photos they attack him: “All photoshopped”, they comment. In fact, many haters believe that the physique he presents in the photo is not his.

To explain what happened Cerioli himself at Vanity Fair:

“During the first lockdown I lazed more, I cooked and ate better and got fatter, nothing strange”.

Andrea Cerioli would therefore have arrived in Honduras with a few more corners and the fans would have immediately criticized him for this. Nothing serious, except that the attacks got worse from week to week and now Andrea Cerioli has decided to publicly report the incident:

“Body shaming, of course, is a problem that mainly affects women but as in my case it can also affect a man. The answer should always be ‘who cares, just feel good about yourself’. In shape, if you wish, you can get it back ”.

Furthermore, Andrea Cerioli added:

“In Honduras I lost about twenty-two kilos, but gaining weight or losing weight doesn’t have to be a worry. Nobody can afford to judge another’s body ”.

Important words finally aimed at fighting once and for all even the heavy comments on the love handles of men. In the hope that Cerioli’s denunciation can give courage even to those who are more sensitive and perhaps introverted than him.
